- For most petrol cars, plan a tune-up around every 60,000 km or every four years, whichever comes first. If you are noticing a rough idle, hesitation, poor fuel economy or a check-engine light, do not wait for the next interval — book it in.
- A diagnostic scan, spark plug replacement, ignition system check, air filter replacement, throttle body clean, fuel-trim review and a road test. We adjust the scope based on your make, model and what the diagnostics show.
- Often, yes — particularly if it is misfire-related. If the light points to something more serious like an O2 sensor, catalytic converter or coil failure, we will find it during the scan and quote it separately so you can decide.
- Yes. Worn plugs, a dirty air filter and a sticky throttle body each cost a few percent at the bowser. Together, they can easily knock 10% off your fuel economy. A proper tune-up gets that back.
- We service diesel engines, including filters, glow plugs, EGR and DPF checks. The work is different from a petrol tune-up, so let us know your model when you book.
- Most petrol tune-ups are 2 to 4 hours of workshop time. We can usually finish the same day if you drop the car off in the morning.
